DAY 10

Character Analysis

The day began with a prayer and an intensive head-to-toe warm-up led by Anil, energizing participants for the activities ahead. Sunil Sir introduced a relaxation technique where participants lay on the floor, visualizing their favorite place to reset their energy and reduce stress.

Sharath Parvathaveni Sir then led a session on character analysis, explaining its importance and distinction from screenplay writing. He emphasized that strong writing skills are essential for an actor or artist. Participants practiced character analysis through a demo exercise, focusing on understanding characters from an audience’s perspective.

Key steps for character analysis included thoroughly reading the script, examining character motivations and context, and understanding narrative conflicts. Participants were then asked to pick a name from the walls and think of the last play they watched to conceptualize its goal. Using this as a base, they created a story and completed a character profile form from their chosen character’s perspective.

These exercises offered hands-on practice in character creation, enhancing participants' grasp of character goals, motivations, and backgrounds.
