Inauguration & Introduction

The Rangasourabha Theatre Workshop 2024 was inaugurated on Sunday, November 3rd, welcoming 30 participants and three distinguished guest speakers. The event began at 5:30 PM with an opening address by Prof. R. P. Umashankar, Convenor of Rangasourabha, who introduced the workshop's objectives and set a welcoming tone. Prof. A. Padmanabha, Honourable Secretary of Rangasourabha, followed with an inspiring account of the team's journey, highlighting the dedication and efforts that have shaped their achievements. Guest Speaker Sri. Ravikumar then delivered an insightful speech, sharing valuable experiences and emphasizing key lessons, outlining practices to embrace and those to avoid for personal and professional growth. Sri. Sundar Raj, a respected thespian in theatre and cinema, concluded the series of speeches by stressing the importance of theatre and its applications across various industries, broadening participants’ perspectives on the significance of this art form.

After a 10-minute tea break, the first session was conducted by Sri. Pramod Shetty, team member and noted actor & director. This session included introductions among the participants, fostering a sense of community and engagement. Pramod Shetty also underscored the principles of discipline and commitment essential for success in theatre, setting clear expectations for participants throughout the workshop. The day’s activities concluded at 8 PM, leaving attendees inspired and prepared for the sessions ahead, with a solid understanding of the workshop's objectives.
