“Sahrudaya” was started to help those in need. Art for the sake of humanity appealed to a lot of us here at rangasourabha, thus we conducted two charity shows- for the first time in 2005 and then again in 2007. The first ever edition of Sahrudaya was held in 2005 and saw a packed house. By putting up a spectacular evening with variety performances like folk dance, contemporary dance performances and Ranga geethe drushyavali, we managed to raise money close to 1 lakh. The money was utilizes to help cancer affected children at Kidwai hospital, Bangalore. Seeing the happy smiles on those cute little faces made our efforts worthwhile. The second edition of the charity event was held for a cause much closer to our hearts. We decided to setup a scholarship for poor, yet talented students in our own college, BHS FGC. The event saw a great turnout and this time’s contribution was close to one and a half lakhs. Till today, many students have benefited from our scholarship and it makes us immensely happy. We continue to give back to the society in whatever way can and have big plans for the future as well.
