On February 5, 2020, St. Joseph’s Science College performed the play Sankranti at the Sourabha 2020 State Level Intercollege Theatre Competition. Directed by Hanumantarayappa, the play is written by renowned Kannada writer P. Lankesh. Sankranti is set in post-independent India and is a sharp critique of the country’s socio-political environment. It reflects on the disillusionment with post-independence politics through its depiction of societal and political upheavals.
