On February 6, 2020, National College, Jayanagar performed the play Pramilarjuneeyam at the Sourabha 2020 State Level Intercollege Theatre Competition. Directed by Naveen Sanehalli, this play, written by M. L. Srikantesha Gowda, is a Kannada adaptation of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. The story revolves around the intricate love triangles and the mystical events that occur during the wedding of Arjuna and Pramila.
The plot intertwines the romantic entanglements of characters like Jayantha, Vasantha, and Kairave, alongside the divine intervention of Manmatha (Cupid) and Rathi. Magical elements, such as a love-inducing flower used by the mischievous Ashuga, further complicate the relationships, leading to humorous and fantastical situations.
