On February 4, 2020, Christ Deemed to be University, Hosur Road performed the play Mannina Kathe at the Sourabha 2020 State Level Intercollege Theatre Competition. Directed by Vinod Gokak, the play was written by Pumani, a celebrated Tamil writer known for his works on the struggles of marginalized communities. Mannina Kathe (The Story of the Soil) explores the deep connection between people and the land, focusing on the hardships faced by rural farmers. It portrays the emotional and socio-economic challenges of agrarian life, touching on themes of land ownership, exploitation, and survival.
